Being a fan of Science Fiction, Classic monster movies and general films of the fantastique (not necessarily French!!) I’m planning to write some reviews of some films I’ve enjoyed over the years, concentrating more on the lesser known or at least lesser budgeted offerings. Now that is not to say I’ll be reviewing only low budget films, I will occasionally dip into the blockbusters and productions that have, for good or bad, had lots of money thrown at them. Of course, being a fan of such genres, I’m a big fan of the art of special effects, from stop-motion animation, practical effects to CGI, and I’ll try and add a little commentary on these aspect in the films too. Talking of special effects, I was watching ‘The Time Travelers’ last week, not a bad movie (though I’m to watch the second half yet), but one effect has me stumped, the removing and replacing of an androids head. Now this is a real guy in a suit, thats obvious, but when his all over head mask is removed…. no actors head. This is probably easily explained, but I can ‘t see it! Take a look.
